On Such a Night Like This

Half moon hanging in the sky
reminds me you're not by my side
Feeling just like half a man
When I'm not hanging on your hand

The night air hangs so soft and wet
Like on the night when we first met
Your hair hung down around my face
Kisses wet and soft embrace.

And we should be together, on such a night like this,
We should hold each other and steal another kiss.

The cars go droning down the road
Like lovers with some place to go
Night frogs singing to their mates
How long do we have to wait?

The moon has fallen through the trees
I feel a chill; the cool night breeze
Songs are swimming in my head
I drag myself on off to bed,

And we should be together, on such a night like this,
We should hold each other and steal another kiss.

Now I'm lying in my bed
It's hard to sleep, you're in my head,
Now I'm drifting in the dark,
I know my dreams, you're in my heart,
Now I'm talking in my sleep
Of promises I swear to keep
I think I hear you call my name
But I only dreamt you came,

And we should be together, on such a night like this,
We should hold each other and steal another kiss.
